SVEC planned power outage takes place tomorrow 10/20 at 4 a.m.

An email from Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) reports that an emergency repair has been scheduled.

The work will be done on a transmission line into the West Winchester substation and will cause a temporary disruption of power.

The interruption should last no more than one hour starting 4 a.m. Wed. morning Oct. 20.

This temporary outage will affect about 75 hundred customers in Winchester and Frederick County.

An email from Winchester Medical Center (WMC) reports that there will be no outage at the Medical Center as they like all hospitals have generators at the ready on demand when necessary.

Any concerns or questions should be directed to SVEC at 1-800-234-7832 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..

SVEC is notifying customers by call or email if numbers and addresses are known to the cooperation.
