Avian Influenza affects BRWC

giving tuesday

More cases of Avian Influenza have been found in Virginia and neighboring states.

Cases have been reported from Florida to Maine along the Atlantic flyway.

Parts of Mississippi and a case in Fauquier County Virginia have been reported.

The infection has led to new protocols being implemented at Blue Ridge Wildlife Center being reported by the center.

Any emergencies for the time being involving birds will have to be phoned in before the bird can be brought into the center.

There will be a series of questions that must be answered before the bird can be brought in.

Also for the time being the wildlife walk at Blue Ridge Wildlife Center has been temporarily closed until further notice.

If you notice neurological or respiratory struggles in your backyard poultry you should contact your veterinarian immediately.
