Virginia teachers could see pay increase

Virginia public school teachers could see a pay increase if Delegate Clark’s (D-Suffolk) bill makes it through the General Assembly.

The bill would require that state teachers and support staff be paid at or above the national average.

That is currently about $5000 more than what they bring home currently.

House Bill 187 and Senate Bill 104 states that teachers would receive a 3% increase for the 24/25 year and an additional 7% in 26/27 school year.
