BCSD investigates the discovery of a body near Martinsburg

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department (BCSD) reports that investigators have recovered a body near the Martinsburg golf course.

Patrol deputies were first on the scene in the 100 block of Golf Course Road Monday May 6 around 7:30 p.m.

The victim is identified as someone who died under suspicious circumstances at this stage of the investigation.

The body appears to be that of a female and has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston to determine identity and cause of death.

In the meantime, authorities are asking anyone who may have observed anything suspicious or who has any relevant information to contact Berkeley County Authorities.
