WCSO locate a fugitive near A.S. Rhodes Elementary

Warren County Sheriff's Office

Early Tues. morning Aug. 23 Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) reported a soft lockdown of A.S. Rhodes Elementary and the 15 Street Diversified Minds Schools.

The lockdown was just a precautionary measure as Authorities tracked an individual who fled on foot and was wanted by a neighboring jurisdiction.

The white male in blue shorts and white tank top was last seen running in proximity of A.S. Rhodes School on Strasburg Road near Kesler Road.

Deputies secured a perimeter to enable Master Deputy Matthew Griffith and his canine partner Gator to successfully track and locate the wanted individual.

The 44 year old subject was detained and transported to the Rapphannock, Shenandoah, Warren Regional jail without further incident.

All lockdowns were lifted less than a half hour after they were initiated.

The subject was served a warrant from the other jurisdiction for malicious wounding.
