Charlottesville man indicted following assault investigation

The Albemarle County Police Department announced the indictment of an individual following an investigation into a sexual assault on August 25th.

After further investigation Jahmal Edrine was indicted on the charges of Rape and Abduction by a grand jury.

Edrine was taken into custody on Thursday February 5th and he is being held without bond at the Albermarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

This investigation is still ongoing.

Augusta County Sheriff’s makes arrest in abduction case

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation and subsequent arrest of an individual after a report of a female being held against her will.

Authorities responded to an area around the 400 block of Sandy Ridge Road where the female victim was allegedly held.

The victim was interviewed and then transported for medical treatment.

After the initiation of an investigation, authorities from Augusta County obtained warrants for Ronald L. King for charges of abduction of force and rape by force threat or intimidation.

King was arrested at his home.

This remains an active investigation.

Domestic dispute call leads to arrest Shenandoah County

On Thursday, April 17th, around 1:30 p.m., deputies with the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute involving a firearm on Company House Lane in Strasburg.

By the time deputies arrived, the suspect, 33-year-old James Tyler Clater, had already fled the scene in a red SUV.

A short time later, his vehicle was found near the 500 block of Ash Street in Strasburg.

Investigators secured a search warrant for the residence, and just after 6:30 p.m., they executed the search, recovering two firearms and ammunition.

Clater later turned himself in to the RSW Regional Jail without incident, where he is being held without bond.

He now faces multiple serious charges, including abduction, domestic assault, brandishing a firearm, preventing a 911 call, and shooting into an occupied building.

Additional charges include being a convicted felon in possession of a gun and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The Sheriff’s Office thanks the Strasburg Police Department for supporting the case.

SCSO apprehend abduction suspect in Rockingham County

Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office announced they captured the suspect they had been searching for the past few days.

Mitchell Markley Jr. was located in northern Rockingham County where a third stolen vehicle was found following a crash.

Markley was wanted for an alleged abduction that occurred in Basye as well as the theft of multiple vehicles in the process.

The victim abducted was previously found safely in one of the stolen vehicles.

Sheriff’s utilized drone units, K9 search teams, and received air assistance from the Virginia State Police to locate the suspect.

Sheriff Timothy Carter thanked the public for their cooperation in the investigation which included a community member sending in images from their trail camera of Markley.

Noah Trout is found safe 2 are charged

Nancy Fridley a 44 year old from Clifton Forge has been charged with felony abduction and child endangerment in the case of 2 year old Noah Trout.

Fridley’s boyfriend Bobby Taylor was also charged with one count of abduction.

Noah was found safe yesterday May 3 and appears to be in good shape but was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure.

No motive in the abduction has been determined.
