Nominations open for the 2023 Winchester Mayor Awards

The City of Winchester’s Mayor Smith is now accepting nominees for the 2023 Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in Community Service.

The Awards will be given to individuals, businesses, groups, or organizations whose efforts in the community have showcased Winchester as a great place to be, helped others in the community without hesitation or motive, made contributions and shown commitment to the betterment of the community, and brought outside the box solutions to societal needs.

Winners of the 2022 awards included Access Independence, the Chabad Jewish Center, and Erica Truban.

Make sure to nominate your favorite business, organization, or individual before the October 31st deadline.

Access Independence welcomes new director

Monday Winchester’s  Access Independence (Ai) welcomes it’s new Executive Director.

Charles Harbaugh IV takes over for Donald Price who resigned Dec. 31.

Harbaugh was the former Director of NW Works for 7 years.

Ai is a Winchester nonprofit that offers an number of services for independent living for people with disabilities in the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
