The Humane Society of Warren County announced some major changes for 2024.

Visitors will notice a renovated entrance including fresh coats of paint, new signage, and some new technology which will now aid in the adoption and visitation process for the dogs at the Humane Society.

Beginning Monday, January 8th, the “Pawfect Match” policy will go into effect.

This policy aims to decrease the length of stays for dogs at the shelter, decrease the number of returns to the shelter, and increase adoption rates.

Prospective adopters will now learn about the available dogs through pictures and information displayed on a tv screen or tablets in the lobby.

Visitors will no longer be allowed to walk through the cages which has shown to increase stress and anxiety levels in the dogs while also incorrectly portraying them as aggressive or hyper.
