Hiker Airlifted To A Trauma Center From The Skyline Drive

On June 27th, at 3PM, a hiker fell off of a rock face on the Skyline Drive, rendering them unconscious.

WCFR (Warren County Fire Rescue) was dispatched to the 10 mile post, and hiked half a mile down the trail to administer advanced life support care.

U.S. National Park Search and Rescue also responded to the scene to assist with removing the individual off of the trail.

Due to significant trauma, Air Medical Front Royal was requested to air lift the patient to a local trauma center.

FRPD investigate a pedestrian struck by a vehicle

Front Royal Police Department (FRPD) continues to investigate a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

The incident occurred in the 500 block of South Royal Ave. Front Royal.

Elmo Russell Edwards was not using the crosswalk when he was struck by an SUV.

Edwards was air lifted to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV remained on the scene with a witness.

It was determined that alcohol and speed was not factor in the incident.
