SVBF announce 7 new parks to be funded

A Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Foundations (SVBF) news release announced that Virginia Legislators have allocated funds to protect civil war battlefields.

Over the next two years the state budget includes more than $4 million to protect battlefields in the Shenandoah Valley.

The funds will also allow for the opening of 7 new battlefield parks in the Shenandoah Valley.

It also helps in funding upgrades to already existing battlefields.

Some of those improvements will impact second and third Winchester, Fisher’s Hill, Cedar Creek, Tom’s Brook, New Market, Cross Keys, Port Republic and McDowell.
