Front Royal recognized for electrical reliability

The American Public Power Association recognized the Town of Front Royal for exceptional electric reliability in 2022.

APPA is a trade group that represents over 2000 not-for-profit, community owned electric utilities and helps them track power outage and restoration data through its eReliability Tracker subscription service.

The data is also compared to national statistics tracked by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Carey Safelle, Director of Energy Services, said, “We are proud to receive this recognition. It is a testament to hard work of all our staff to ensure we keep the Town of Front Royal powered.”

Department of Energy receives Platinum designation

The town of Front Royal’s Department of Energy Services has earned a Platinum Level Reliable Public Power Provider designation.

The designation comes from the American Public Power Association.

The Association recognizes that Front Royal’s Department of Energy Services provides a reliable and safe source of power along with system improvements and workforce development.

The designation lasts for three years.
