Budweiser Clydesdales return for Apple Blossom

The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival announced that the world-renowned Budweiser Clydesdales are scheduled to appear in the Grand Feature Parade on Saturday May, 4th.

The Clydesdales will also be available for a meet and greet at the Virginia Eagle Distributing warehouse on Wednesday, May 1st from 6 pm – 8 pm.

Horses chosen as Budweiser Clydesdales must be at least three years old, over six feet tall at the shoulder and weigh an average of over 2,000 pounds.

The temperament is very important for these gentle giants as they meet millions of people each year at hundreds of events across the country.

A single Clydesdale will consume as much as 25 quarts of feed, 40-50 pounds of hay, and 30 gallons of water per day.

Each group also travels with a Dalmatian which were originally bred to protect the horses and wagons on deliveries.
