Archery team travels to state tournament

Dominion Ridge Academy has announced that their NASP Archery Team traveled to the State Bullseye/3D Tournament this past weekend.

The 25 archers displayed extreme patience and excitement throughout the long day.

In the 3D competition, two of the school’s young archers secured 2nd place in their respective age groups, while a third finished in 5th place.

The high school team’s effort led them to secure a 9th place finish in the States.

The elementary school team missed out on the 3rd place by just thirty points.

The team is now aiming to participate in the National Tournament in Kentucky this May.

Dominion Ridge Academy hosts successful archery tournament

Dominion Ridge Academy (DRA) hosted a successful archery tournament this past Saturday, October 21st in Front Royal.

The event attracted 62 archers from five public and private educational institutions from as far away as Southern Maryland.

This tournament demonstrated outstanding marksmanship by several DRA students.

The highlight of the event was by high school sophomore Madison McCoid, who not only scored first place for high school girls with a score of 286 out of 300, but also the tournament leader.

    • Levi Hill – 2nd Place
    • Nikolaus Leypoldt – 3rd Place
  • Elementary girls:
    • River Plott-D’Elia – 1st Place
  • Middle School boys:
    • Logan McCoid – 2nd Place
  • Middle School girls:
    • Avery Philpot – 1st Place
    • Paige Fletcher-Perez – 2nd Place
    • Abigail Winner – 3rd Place
  • High School girls:
    • Madison McCoid – 1st Place

Coach Jason Herndon, reflecting on the event, shared, “The progress and accomplishments of our students have been wonderful to witness. Several have surpassed their personal bests, making this tournament particularly special.”

DRA eagerly anticipates hosting more such events, underlining its commitment to promoting skill, sportsmanship, and fostering a community spirit among students.
