Railroad crossing work at Bentonville Rd.

Warren County Fire and Rescue warns of railroad work being conducted today Mon. Mar. 7 through Fri. Mar. 11.

The WCFR Administrators as well as the office of Emergency Management have made appropriate response adjustments should services be needed.

However the the railroad crossing at Bentonville Rd. will be closed for repairs through the period.

Authorities will be in contact with Norfolk Southern Railroad throughout the process to make arrangements or provide updates as necessary.

Pursuit ends in capture in Warren County

Warren County Sheriff’s Special Problems and Drug Enforcement Unit Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Stonewall Jackson Highway on Mon..

When the vehicle failed to yield a pursuit ensued which terminated at Gooney Manor Loop.

After that stop the suspects vehicle took off again driving recklessly, striking a Deputy’s vehicle.

Pursuit was re initiated to continue onto Bentonville Road where the suspect lost control and crashed.

The driver was apprehended in a creek after a short foot chase by Warren County Officers and K-9 units.

The passenger was apprehended at the crash scene.

Both the driver Garland Turner Jr. and passenger Alicia Knott are facing numerous charges including felony eluding, assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of a schedule I/II drug.

No one was injured in the incident.
