FCPRD hosts Youth Triathlon

Frederick County Parks and Recreation’s 6th annual Youth Triathlon returns tomorrow at 8 am at Sherando Park in Stephens City.

All kids ages 7-15 are welcome to participate in the event which transforms the park into a fun and challenging obstacle course including swimming, biking, and running.

All skill levels are encouraged to come out.

There are different distances for the various age groups.

A webinar is scheduled for the proposed Rail Trail

Traffic Update

A webinar will be held on the proposed Rail Trail project Jul. 21 at 7 p.m..

The proposed project hopes to pave unused train tracks from Broadway to Front Royal.

This is an over 48 mile long tracked that will run up the Shenandoah Valley for hiking, biking and recreation.

Over 8,000 people responded to the The Virginia Department of Conservation and the Virginia Department of Transportation’s survey on the project.
