Bowman Library unveils new amphitheater

The Bowman Library is celebrating the grand opening of the new amphitheater with a Rally for Reading today from 10:30 AM to 2 PM.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will start things off followed by a puppet show, stories and interactive musical play in the children’s room.

Then back at the amphitheater they will hold a Children’s Concert by Tony M. Music and a Biodiversity program from the North Mountain Wildlife Center.

There will also be a magician, face paintings, a bounce house, food served by the Boy Scouts and more!

The amphitheater will host many upcoming programs and events including Frederick County Parks and Recreation’s Sunset Series.

Vintage in the Valley returns to Strasburg

Strasburg is holding their 2nd annual Vintage in the Valley Festival today from 10 am to 4 pm at the Strasburg Square.

There will be a DJ playing music throughout the decades, a wine garden with a bounce house for adults, and of course over 100 with vintage clothing, antiques and other cool finds.

Today will also feature an antique car show from 10 am to 3 pm on Holiday Street and a fashion show throughout the decades hosted by Lydia’s Closet.

3rd Annual Strawberry Fest at West Oaks

West Oaks Farmers Market will host their 3rd annual Strawberry Fest today rain or shine.

The festivities kick off at 9 am and will wrap up at 6 pm.

Admission is free and some of the activities offered include a pick your own strawberry patch, hayrides, a bounce house, a petting zoo, food and beer vendors and more.

Starting at noon, there will be live music provided by BlackJack the Band followed by Trainwreck.
