Community and Safety Fair in Winchester

Bright Futures of Winchester and Frederick County are hosting a Community and Safety Fair today from 11:00 am to 3 pm at James Wood Middle School.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and Winchester Fire and Rescue will bring some of their specialty vehicles and law enforcement apparatus for children to learn about and explore.

They will also have live demonstrations with their K9 team and drones.

There will also be music, food, a dunk tank and a kids zone.

An acknowledgment and moment of silence for the attacks on September 11th will take place at noon.

Please bring canned goods or nonperishable food to support the Bright Futures food drive.

Bright Futures holds a Community Safety Fair

Bright Futures Frederick Winchester announced that they will host a Community Safety Fair in Winchester Sept. 10.

The Safety Fair will be in conjunction with Frederick County, Winchester City Law Enforcement and Fire and Rescue Department.

The safety fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the James Wood Middle School parking lot 1313 Amherst Street in Winchester.

There will be food, music, safety demonstrations, vendors, dunk tank along with events for children.

During the event Bright Futures will be accepting donations of nonperishable food items.

The donations will be used for students in Frederick County and Winchester Public Schools who are experiencing food insecurities.

Community Safety Fair

Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and Bright Futures Frederick-Winchester are coming together for a community safety fair.

The event is held at James Wood Middle School today from 11 am to 3 pm.

This is a great chance to interact with first responders, law enforcement, and military members, check out some of their equipment, and learn some important safety tips.

The Frederick County Sheriff departments K9 team, Winchester Fire and Rescue Drones and Shenandoah Electric will have demonstrations.

Winchester Medical Center will provide hands-on CPR lessons.

There will also be food and craft vendors, music, a Kids Zone, and a dunk tank featuring some community leaders. 

Make sure to bring a nonperishable good for the food drive which will benefit Bright Futures.

Kiwanis Club Pancake Day is tomorrow 5/22

Winchester Kiwanis Club Pancake Day is tomorrow May 22 it is a drive thru event.

The event is held at the Jim Barnett Park’s War Memorial building from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Tickets need to be purchased ahead of time from a Kiwanis member or call (540) 667-2490 to make ticket arrangements.

All proceeds will benefit Bright Futures of Frederick County Winchester.
