The Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is striving to become a Certified Crime Prevention Community.

The program is through the Virginia Department of criminal Justice Service.

The goal of the program is to publicly recognize and certify localities that have implemented a defined set of community safety strategies.

This is a part of a comprehensive community safety crime prevention effort for the betterment of the community.

To that end the WCSO will incorporate community and safety crime prevention elements coordinated by Lieutenant Robbie Seal.

Sheriff Butler hopes to meet the requirements to join the program within a year.

Sheriff Butler stated that certification into the program would make Warren County stand out from the rest of the commonwealth of Virginia.
