Wrapping up Camping for Hunger with drop off locations delivering

Donations continue to come in as drop off locations wrap up the 13 annual Camping for Hunger campaign by bringing in what you have donated.

We have a few more drop off locations reporting in as we wrap up this effort.

Thanks to the community’s efforts thousands are assured that they will not go hungry through spring.

Your donations to the 13 annual Camping for Hunger campaign have made all the difference to help Congregational Community Action Project (C-Cap) feed those in need.

C-Cap and the River 953 are grateful for the efforts of the business community, first responders and the community at large for making the difference for thousands in our community.

Once all the donations are collected we will have the totals to show how much of a difference you have made for those in need.

News Makers Genesis and Sam on their first Camping for Hunger

The Camping for Hunger campaign to help Congregational Community Action Project (C-Cap) feed the hungry in Warren County wraps up tomorrow Nov. 20.

We are collecting non perishable food items and monetary donations through tomorrow Nov. 20 at noon at 1106 Elm St. Front Royal.

This is Royal Broadcasting’s 13 annual Camping for Hunger.

We spoke to two of Royal Broadcasting’s newest family members Genesis Henry and Samantha Higdon about their first Camping for Hunger in our latest news maker.

The good news is brought to you by the town of Front Royal.

The two ladies have been working diligently behind the scenes to make this collective effort a success.

The ladies spoke highly of the communities’ effort to feed those in need in Warren County.

They also tell us of the friends and connections they have made during the effort.

WCFR accepted the Camping for Hunger challenge

Warren County Fire and Rescue (WCFR) Chief  James Bonzano issued the challenge for each of his fire stations to help throw hunger under the bus.

Bonzano asked those under his command to collect at least 20 non perishable food items for Camping for Hunger.

The challenge was met with well over 20 items delivered by each fire and rescue team on Wed. Nov. 17.

The need for donations of non perishable food items will fill the immediate needs of those in need for Congregational Community Action Project (C-Cap).

Drop off locations around Front Royal are found at this link with those donations being picked up or delivered tonight Nov. 19.

You can also meet with Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Seal today from 3 to 7 at the Shenandoah Farms Trash Convenience site for a drop off.

Monetary donations are very much appreciated and useful as well.

They monetary donations will enable C-Cap to meet the needs of those in Warren County in the future.

News Maker Joe Woodall on creating Camping for Hunger

It’s been 13 years of Camping for Hunger to help feed those in need in Warren County.

We spoke to the man credited with creating this great program Joe Woodall in our latest news maker segment.

Joe worked for Royal Broadcasting from 2003 to 2017.

Donations for Camping for Hunger are accepted through Sat. 11/20

Fire and Rescue Departments from around the region dropped off donations for Camping for Hunger yesterday Nov. 17.

Boy Scout Troop 52 also dropped off over 500 pounds of non perishable food donations they collected in their annual Scouting for Food Campaign.

All those donations have been packed and stacked by volunteers from Dominion Ridge Academy into the Camping for Hunger bus to make room for more necessary donations to feed those in need in Warren County.

Congregational Community Action Project (C-Cap) will use every donation they can get to help supply the needs through spring.

It is a community effort that wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Today you can bring those non perishable food donations and monetary donations to 1106 Elm St. Front Royal.

You can also meet Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Seal at the Rt. 340 Trash Convenience site for food donation pick up until 7 tonight Nov.18.

Other food drop off locations are listed at this location.

A secure monetary donation can also be made here as well.

C-Cap through their partnership with various organizations can produce four meals with one dollar so as you see all donations of any kind will help.

A Great start to Camping for Hunger 2021

We began loading the Camping for Hunger bus yesterday and we thank everyone for their donation.

It was a good start with over 20 boxes loaded on the first day but it was just day one.

This effort to help Congregational Community Action Project (C-Cap) feed those in need continues through Sat. at 1106 Elm St. Front Royal.

Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Seal will be at the Linden trash convenience center today Nov.16 from 1 to 5 for pick up as well.

We are also continuing to load the bus here at the station with non perishable food donations.

Loading the Camping for Hunger bus starts today 11/15

Loading the Camping for Hunger bus with non perishable food items has begun.

The bus will be at the radio station 1106 Elm St. Front Royal until Sat. Nov. 20.

If you can’t make it to the bus Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) is sending out Deputy Robbie Seal to assist in pick up.

Meet Lt. Seal today Nov. 15 from 3 to 7 at the trash transfer site on Rt.522 North of Front Royal.

Tomorrow Lt. Seal will be at the Linden trash transfer site from 1 to 5.

Thurs. Nov. 18 Lt. Seal will be at the Rt. 340 trash convenience site from 3 to 7.

The Shenandoah Farms trash convenience site will host Deputy Seal from 3 to 7 on Fri. Nov. 19.

There are many drop off locations throughout the town listed at this link.

Janet Michael spoke to Larry Elliot and Joanne Koszyk on the Valley Today on the importance of this community effort to feed those in need here in Warren County.

The efforts put fourth this week will help C-Cap feed those in need through the spring.
