Remains of Frederick County woman are positively identified

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office announced by email that the remains of Shannon Lee Fox have been recovered.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the skeletal remains found near Feltner Road in Bluemont in Clarke County.

Fox was reported missing on March 1, 2022 after she was not heard from since February 23. Sheriff Millholland expressed sadness in the fact that she was found deceased.

Preliminary indications are that Fox had basically been dumped over an embankment to hide her from authorities according to Millholland.

The investigation into the case continues anyone with any information is asked to contact the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

FRPD investigates gunshot death

A news release from the Front Royal Police Department confirms the investigation of a body found in Front Royal.

The Front Royal Police Department responded to a call on North Shenandoah Avenue at 10:30 on Thursday, June 30th.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered a 41 year old white male in the grassy area between First Bank and United Bank.

The person died from what is suspected to be a self inflicted gunshot wound.

The individual is not believed to be associated with the banks and walked there from a nearby hotel.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is investigating the incident.

Medical Examiner confirms death of a 3 year old in Clarke County

In a news release from Clarke County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Chief Deputy Travis M. Sumption offers an update on the investigation of the death of a 3 year old.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the Nov. 15 death of the child was accidental.

The three year old from the 1200 block of Triple J Rd. Clarke County found access to an unsecured firearm in the house.

The child died of an apparent self inflicted single accidental gunshot wound according to the release.

The findings will be presented to the Clarke County Commonwealth’s Attorney for disposition of the incident.

It is asked that encouraging thoughts continue for the family, friends, law enforcement and emergency personnel who had to respond to the scene.
