News Maker Ann Hawk on the Christmas Angel Program

The Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel program is open for residents of Warren, Rappahannock, Page and the town of Strasburg.

We spoke with Salvation Army Corp Officer Captain Ann Hawk about the program in our latest news maker.

Captain Hawk explains how the program helps to provide Christmas gifts for children in the area.

She also tells us how many children and families were helped last year through the program.

Captain Hawk also tells us that the date to register a child for the program has been extended and how to secure a child’s chance to participate.

Christmas in July in the Shenandoah Valley

It’s Christmas in July around the Shenandoah Valley!

The Merchants on Main are hosting the festivities in Front Royal with deals in many of the businesses downtown, live music, and a surprise you will have to be there to see.

There will also be a visit from Santa Clause at the Gazebo starting at 11 am.

Frederick County Parks and Recreation are getting in the holiday spirit as well with a showing of The Grinch at Clearbrook Pool.

The movie will begin at 7 pm and only credit cards will be taken at the gate.

Old Town Winchester is set to celebrate the holidays

According to a social media post the City of Winchester is ready for the holidays with the return of the Christmas tree lighting in 2021.

The post relays that the lighting of the Old Town Christmas tree will take place this year Fri. Dec. 3 at 6:30 at the 1840 Courthouse on Loudoun Street Winchester.

Then on Dec. 11 starting at 9 a.m. a procession led by Santa Clause will take place starting at Jim Barnett Park down to Old Town Winchester.

A list of activities are scheduled on the 11th including breakfast.
