VSP investigate a fatal accident in Clarke County
An email from Virginia State Police (VSP) Public Information Officer Brent Coffey states that Senior Trooper R. Riggs was called to an accident in Clarke County.
The accident occurred Sat. Nov. 6 along Rt. 600 2 miles south of Rt. 7 around 4 p.m..
Trooper Riggs reports finding a 2003 Ford F-150 had collided with a tree.
Indications are that the drive had run off the right side of Rt. 600 over corrected crossed the double yellow line and ran off the left side of the road when he collided with the tree.
The driver of the Ford was identified as 30 year old Clayton Cummings of Berryville who died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
Cummings was not wearing his seatbelt and the accident remains under investigation.
