Wade Davenport of North Carolina was at the rest stop in Clearbrook when the domestic despite occurred.

When Davenport attempted to intervene in the dispute he was shot.

In a social post from Wade’s wife Lauren Davenport she confirms that Wade is recuperating from his facial injuries.

She and Wade have continued their journey home.

Lauren reports that all that were involved in the shooting on Dec. 26 are recovering.

Lauren goes on to thank everyone for all the support from the community as well as the medical staff and first responders.
