Front Royal seeks interim Council Member

Despite the fact that former council member Joseph McFadden claims that his resignation should not be recognized because it did not follow proper procedure.

The Front Royal Town Council announced that they are actively seeking a citizen to fill the vacancy McFadden created when he abruptly walked out of the council’s August 8 work session.

Once a citizen fills that vacancy their term will end upon the oath being taken by the candidate elected in a special election which is to be determined.

The term of that person elected in the special election will end on December 31, 2024.

Those interested in filling the position must be a resident of Front Royal, must be a registered voter and have been a resident of Virginia for one year preceding their appointment.

Persons interested must submit a resume with a cover letter to the Town Council by September 6.
