The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) establishes a new dashboard showing which COVID-19 variants are in the State.

Dashboard information includes where the variant was found age, sex, race and ethnicity of persons infected or testing positive.

Variants of the virus may escape vaccine protection and may spread more easily with more severe symptoms.

The dashboard is updated every Friday and COVID-19 precautions are still recommended.
