WPD make arrest in August 2 fatal vehicle train collision
Following the investigation of an August 2 fatal vehicle train collision Winchester Police have made an arrest.
Virginia State Police report by email that they conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of Jeremiah A.T. Greenfield of Winchester.
Greenfield is being charged with one felony count of second-degree murder, homicide and one felony count of eluding law enforcement.
The arrest of the 19-year-old was made by WPD in the 1650 block of South Braddock Street on August 25.
Greenfield is being held without bond in the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.
The collision involved Greenfield ignoring police pursuit on Route 17 in Fauquier County passing stopped vehicles and colliding with the train.
The collision caused the death of 18-year-old Berryville resident Haidan B. Smallwood a passenger in the vehicle.
The vehicle was reported stolen out of Winchester.
