An email from the United States Attorney’s Office of Western District of Virginia reports that Braxton Louis Danley has pleaded guilty to cyberstalking.

The 26 year old Luray resident pleaded guilty to cyberstalking and harassing a Harrisonburg army recruiter.

Danley pleaded guilty to cyberstalking after he failed his army entrance exam in Harrisonburg.

The repeated harassment by phone and email went on for five months often with foul language and sometimes threatening.

Finally the recruiter obtained a No Trespassing notice and eventually a state of Preliminary Order of Protection (PPO) against Danley.

After continued harassment Danley was arrested for violation of the state PPO and was sentenced to 12 months of incarceration.

After his release Danley’s harassment became even more threatening toward the recruiter.

Danley has pleaded guilty and faces sentencing on Feb. 1 and up to five years in prison.

A federal judge will determine the sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) conducted the investigation of the case.
