Fun Fact June 22, 2021.
Tool time Tuesdays and we ask to lop, or not to lop. I, like a lot of dads, received gifts for Father’s Day this past Sunday. One of the gifts I received was a pair of loppers. Basically, a two handed pruning scissor. This tool comes in handy when trimming larger limbs that can’t be cut with pruning scissors, but are too small to warrant getting out a hand saw. The one I was given has extendable handles for better reach and a ratcheting head for better cutting force. Yes, I did try them out, almost immediately. It’s a dad rule. I ended up cutting a few grape vines that had invaded a tall oak tree on the property. One stubborn vine would not come down, so I left it and it quickly turned into a swing for my boys. I even tried to teach Levi how to do the Tarzan yell. All three boys took turns swinging out over the driveway. Slowly but surely the vine was loosing the grip it had near the top of the tree and eventually let loose and came down to the ground, taking Mason with it. No injuries, but great memories were made, all because I got a pair of loppers for Father’s Day.
