News Maker Tony Brooks on a golf tournament fundraiser

The third annual Fore the Kitties Golf Tournament to benefit Dakota’s Dream Animal Rescue in Winchester is set for August 20.

We spoke to the coordinator of the event Tony Brooks about it in our latest news maker.

Hop Blossom Festival takes over Old Town

The 9th Annual Hop Blossom Craft Beer Festival is back in Old Town Winchester today from noon – 6 pm.

This year’s event will feature over 40 breweries and 80 different craft beers, some of which are exclusive to the festival.

Local vendors will be placed around the festival and the restaurants of Old Town will be open with food specials.

Winchester Brew Works is hosting the event with proceeds going towards Dakota’s Dream Animal Rescue and the Winchester Main Street Foundation.

So far, the annual festival has raised over $85,000.

Rabies and Vaccine Clinic

Today from 10 am – 2 pm, Dakota’s Dream Animal Rescue and Veterinary Community Outreach are holding a rabies and vaccination clinic at Jim Barnett Park.

This is a great opportunity to take care of your furry friend at a greatly reduced cost.

Rabies Vaccines at $10, Microchipping for $20, a wellness package for rabies, distemper and deworming for $25, and nail trimmings by a donation to the Fast and the Furriest.
