Wee Wee, or should I say oui, oui?  Did you know the French word for dandelion, pissenlit, actually means “wet the bed?”  Well, you do now.  Why do our French friends call a dandelion a pissenlit?  According to baby languages dot com, it’s called that due to the diuretic properties contained in the leaves.  If you eat dandelions you are more likely to wet the bed.  The French aren’t the only ones who associated the flower with wee.  In Middle English the flowers had a folk name meaning pee the bed and in Luxemburg it’s known as the pissblumn.  So, next time you see a dandelion feel free to say wee wee, or oui oui.
