Winchester places the Christmas tree on the Old Town Mall

In a social media post from Winchester Police Department the City of Winchester welcomed its Christmas tree to the Old Town Mall.

The 20 foot tall blue spruce was brought in by flatbed truck and placed by crane across from the Civil War Museum on the Loundoun St. Mall yesterday Nov. 18.

The tree this year was donated by Debra Rotz of Cider Mill in Frederick County.

After the task of decorating the massive Christmas tree is complete the community is invited to the annual tree lighting ceremony.

A City of Winchester social media post states that the tree lighting will be held Dec. 3 at 6:30.

Tonight Nov. 19 voting in the Jolly Old Town Storefront Contest begins with voting running through Nov. 29.

The celebration of Chanukah takes place on Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. with music and the lighting of the Menorah.

First Night Winchester this year is a full day and night of activities to bring in 2022.
