The VA. Department of Elections require witness signatures on absentee ballots

The Virginia Department of Elections (VDE) reminds voters that witness signatures are required on all absentee ballots.

In an email from Frederick County and the VDE if a general registrar finds the witness signature missing the voter will be notified.

If you receive that notification you will be told the ballot needs modification.

The voter will have until November 5 to correct the ballot in order to be counted.

The VDE encourages voters to return their absentee ballot at their earliest convenience.

A voter may also return the absentee ballot by United States mail, UPS or Fedex.

Absentee ballots can also be dropped off at the General Registrar Office in your county, town or city.

Absentee ballots can also be dropped off at any polling place in your county, town or city.

All absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 2 and arrive by Nov. 5.

Personally delivered absentee ballots can be taken to your General Registrar Office in your county, town or city.

Absentee ballots can also be delivered to any polling place in your county, town or city on election day

You can track your absentee ballot at v2.ballotscout.org/virginia/search/state.
