Frederick County Sheriffs were led on a high speed chase on Thursday which ended in two officer’s vehicles damaged.

Sheriff’s responded to a call about a suspicious situation and reckless driving.

A female was spotted switching license plates on cars in a parking lot and then running two red lights.

Deputy Chase Smallwood located the suspect’s vehicle, a white 2017 Toyota Corolla with Delaware tags, at the intersection of Martinsburg Pike and Route 37.

The vehicle was improperly stopped on the roadway and when the deputy turned on his lights, the driver took off.

The chase reached speeds of 90 mph with the driver crossing into oncoming traffic multiple times.

Attempted spike strips failed but a PIT maneuver from Lieutenant Warren Gosnell disabled the vehicle.

The suspect refused to identify herself, providing the name “Peace Freedom.”

She was transported to the regional adult detention facility and is being held on charges of felony eluding, assault on law enforcement, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, altered license plates, and improper stopping on the highway.

No injuries were suffered and damages to the cruisers are estimated at $8,000.
