Frederick County Government announced that Stacy Herbaugh has been named Director of Parks and Recreation.

Herbaugh was named the interim director back in February after the retirement of former director Jason Robertson was announced.

In the position as interim Director Herbaugh performed complex professional work involving administrative responsibilities of the department and department staff.

In addition to being interim Director since February Herbaugh was the Operations Manager, Facilities Manager, Special Events Coordinator and Community Center Supervisor.

Herbaugh also worked closely with other county departments and represented the department to citizens groups among other duties.

Deputy County Administrator Jay Tibbs remarked that there was a good pool of candidates but Herbaugh was the clear choice after her performance as interim director.

Herbaugh takes the full time Director of Frederick County Parks and Recreation position on Oct. 1.
