The Stanley Police Department released a remembrance of  Officer Dominic Nick Winum.

Sat. Feb.26 was one year to the day that Officer Winum was killed in the line of duty in a traffic stop in Stanley Virginia.

February 26 has been declared Officer Winum day in the town.

Winum was honored by citizens, officials and politicians in a ceremony at the Ed Good Park on Saturday Feb. 26, 2022.

The new Stanley Police Department was named the Winum Building in honor of the officer on Sat. as well.
