News Maker Don McLean on the July 22 show with SVMF

Don McLean is set to preform this Saturday July 22 at the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival as a part of the summer music festival.

Don took time out from his extremely busy schedule to talk with us in our latest news maker.

News makers are sponsored by Warren County Together We are Community.

Outside of an extensive tour Don tells us about all the different projects he has been working on including a new album and children’s book.

He also tells us a little bit about what we can expect this Saturday July 22 at Orkney Springs.

Don also tells us how he feels about audiences singing along to his classic American Pie and a little bit about the song’s origin.

A Winchester resident is gracing the stage at the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival this weekend.

Meisha Herron is opening for Don McLean Saturday night in Orkney Springs with her own spin on some of your favorite hits as well as her own original songs.

She studied guitar at Columbia College Chicago and has been playing music for over 40 years.

In January, Meisha opened for Buddy Guy at his internationally acclaimed jazz and blues club “Legends” where she previously was a regular acoustic performer.

She first visited the Shenandoah Valley in 2019 and fell in love with the area’s vibrant music scene.

You can find Meisha playing at all your favorite wineries, breweries, and outdoor festivals.

She graced the stage of the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival in 2021 opening for the Four Tops and more recently with The Spinners.

Tickets are still available for the performance here.
