StoryWalk premiere at Eastham Park

Warren County Parks and Recreation, Samuels Public Library and Rotary Club are teaming up for the new StoryWalk at Eastham Park in Front Royal.

The new book along the walk will be Have You Heard the Nesting Bird by Rita Gray.

Families are invited to the park today at 1 pm to learn more about local birds and build a bird-feeder.

The first 50 children in attendance will also receive a copy of the book featured on the walk.

Samuel’s Public Library launches a StoryWalk® Program

Library Laptop and Hot spot Lending Program

In a press release from Samuels Public Library it was announced that a new StoryWalk® Program will be launched.

StoryWalk® Programs were created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier Vermont.

The program features laminated pages from a children’s book attached to waterproof frames along an outdoor trail.

As participants walk the trail they are presented with the next page of the story.

The program has been install in all 50 states and around the world in 13 countries.

This StoryWalk® in Warren County will officially open Wed. Dec. 15 at Eastham Park.

The StoryWalk® has been made possible by the Front Royal Rotary Club in cooperation with Warren County Parks and Recreation.

The new Warren County StoryWalk® supports literacy, family fun and outdoor adventure.
