Front Royal Little League’s 8-9-10 All Stars won the Virginia District 3 championship last night in Elkton where they took down Bridgewater 1-0.

Hunter Seal had a dominant performance on the mound with eight strikeouts and Miles Henry scored the game winning run on a wild pitch.

The team dominated pool play averaging over 20 runs per game with five mercy rule victories.

They will now head to the Virginia State Tournament in Abingdon but are in need of funding to help support the trip.

Manager Jesse Henry and the team will attend the Front Royal Cardinals game on Monday night before the fireworks and will be accepting donations.

A Venmo account has also been established to receive donations, @OnTheWaytoStates.

SVFC 70 respond to a propane tank explosion

page county election coverage

The Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Company 70 (SVFC70) reports being assisted by the Elkton and Stanley Volunteer Fire Companies as they responded to a structure fire Sunday July 3.

Fire units arrived at approximately 5:15 p.m. to find the single story home in the 600 block of 10th Street Shenandoah Virginia showing heavy fire.

The fire was moving from the rear of the home extending into the living quarters.

No one was home at the time of the fire with all three cats being rescued by first responders.

The fire was quickly contained but the home looks to be left uninhabitable.

Preliminary investigation indicates the fire was caused by a propane tank exploding.

A completed investigation will confirm the cause of the blaze.
