The Virginia State Police announced charges stemming from the high speed chase Saturday, February 3rd.
Scott A. Parsons, 34, of Pennsylvania was charged with one count of eluding law enforcement, tampering with a vehicle, reckless driving, failure to maintain proper control, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, speeding, and driving without a valid license.
Parsons was also wanted in Shenandoah County on multiple felony warrants.
The pursuit was initiated by Winchester Police and traveled south on interstate 81 from mile marker 312 until the Volkswagen Jetta took exit 302 into Middletown.
The vehicle hit a pole in a convenience store parking lot then continued to Reliance Road into Warren County.
Parsons reached speeds of up to 125 mph during the pursuit before running off the road on the 2800 block of Guard Hill Road.
He fled on foot before being apprehended with the assistance of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital for minor injuries then transported to RSW Regional Jail where he is held without bond.
A female passenger was detained and released without any charges.
No citizens or law enforcement were injured in the pursuit.
