For the fifth year in a row the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Mission Lifeline Gold Plus Award has been awarded to the Winchester Fire and Rescue Department (WFRD).

According to the news release this is the highest award offered by the AHA.

The award is given for a team’s ability to meet strict criteria for quality cardiac arrest patients care and recovery.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics are the critical link between hospitals and emergency care.

By utilizing the Emergency Response System EMT and first responders save precious time by notifying the hospital ahead of arrival.

WFRD Chief Jon Henschel praised his team for repeatedly demonstrating it’s commitment to improving its quality of care.
