Gov. Northam announced that 15 projects across the state will receive a total of $620,000 in Virginia Food Access Investment Funding.

The funds include $25,000 to New Market’s Jon Henry General Store in Shenandoah County.

The store currently offers a produce box for SNAP/EBT customers that includes fruits and vegetables.

At the same time the box leverages the Virginia Fresh Match program.

The funding is expected to support expanded cooler capacity and enable an expansion of the Virginia Fresh Match program at the store.
