A social post from Clarke County, Virginia honors the memory of the late Wilson L. Kirby Berryville’s former mayor.

Berryville’s flag will fly at half staff and ceremonial mourning drapes will hang above the main entrance of the government center until January 18.

The former mayor died Monday at the age of 82 and was a part of town government since 2002.

Kirby successfully ran for mayor in 2008 and 2012 he did not seek a third term in 2016.

Kirby did serve on Berryville’s Board of Zoning Appeals until 2017.

Arrangements are being handled by Enders and Shirley Funeral Home of Berryville.
