Warren County mourns the loss of an iconic figure

Messages of sympathy, condolences and memories flooded in following the announcement of the passing of former Warren County Sheriff Lynn Armentrout.

Current Warren County Sheriff Mark Butler noted the invaluable contribution the former Sheriff had on the county and the standard he set.

Former Sheriff Armentrout passed away of undisclosed causes on August 18.

After 28 years of service to the community as Sheriff Armentrout retired in December of 2003.

It’s believed that Sheriff Armentrout held the office longer than any other Warren County Sheriff.

Sheriff Armentrout held the office from November 1974 to his retirement in 2003 a total of 7 consecutive appointments to the elected office.

The former Sheriff was 81 years of age.

Maddox Funeral Home reports that the family will receive friends and family Wednesday August 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.
