Commercial Metals Company breaks ground in Berkeley County

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice attended the groundbreaking of Commercial Metals Company in Berkeley County yesterday.

The Fortune 500 company originally announced the location of their fourth micro-mill in December of 2022.

In late June 2023, they completed the purchase of the land and received the appropriate permits required for construction.

Once completed, the project will employ 230 people on a full time basis.

The plant is scheduled to open late in 2025 and will produce various sizes of both straight length and spooled rebar.
