Frederick County seeking bids for old Aylor Middle School

The Frederick County Board of Supervisors announced they will be seeking sealed bids for the county property consisting of the former Aylor Middle School and surrounding property located at 901 Aylor Road in Stephens City.

The school sits on 23 acres and the building is approximately 107,000 square feet.

The property will be sold as is, together with all improvements, accessories, and rights of way it belongs to.

Bids will be received by Missi Neal, Purchasing Manager for Frederick County’s Finance Department om the 3rd Floor of the Frederick County Government Building at 107 N Kent Street.

Bids are currently being accepted until June 2nd at 2 pm.

Frederick County hires a new county administrator

Michael Bollhoefer has been hired by the Frederick County board of Supervisors as the new County administrator.

Bollhoefer was the former city manager of Winter Garden Florida.

According to the West Orange Times and Observer Bollhoefer announced his departure from Winter Garden for the job in Frederick County Virginia on Oct. 14.

Giving Winter Garden a 30 day notice as he takes his new position in Frederick County on Nov. 16.

Bollhoefer will take over for interim administer Mary Price.

Price was serving as administer after the retirement of Kris Tierney in July.
