2 for 2 Foundation attempts world record and raises awareness

The 2 for 2 Foundation is inviting the community to the Frederick County Fairgrounds today at 10 am to attempt to break a world record and raise awareness to bring a new recreational facility to the area.

The Foundation is attempting to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest human ice cream cone.

There will also be an attempt to break the record for the world’s largest ice cream sandwich.

The Foundation’s goal for the event is to raise awareness for their efforts in bringing an indoor pool and skating rink to the Shenandoah Valley.

47th Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival returns

Annual Community Grant

The 47th Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival is back at the Frederick County Fairgrounds from 10 am to 5 pm today and tomorrow.

Saturday will feature events like the Classic Car and Hot Rod show from 11 am to 3 pm and the apple pie baking contest at noon.

All weekend there will be live music, kids activities like inflatables, a petting zoo, and pony rides, and everything apples, from apple butter to apple dumplings.

Admission is $10 and free for kids under 10, law enforcement, and military.

Proceeds benefit the Rotary Club of Winchester’s local charities.

Touch-A-Truck to benefit Discovery Museum

The Top of Virginia Building Association is hosting a touch-a-truck event to support the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum.

The event will take place at the Frederick County Fairgrounds today from 11 am to 5 pm.

This is a great opportunity for kids to have a hands-on learning experience with local fire and rescue vehicles, heavy construction equipment, and other vehicles.

Tickets to the event cost $5 per person or $20 a carload of less than 6.

95th SABF is in full Bloom

Shenandoah Apple Blossom 2022

We are in full Bloom here in the Shenandoah Valley as the 95th Apple Blossom Festival is here.

Today will bring us some of the marquis events like the Grand Feature Parade which will have bands from around the country, floats, and this year’s Grand Marshall Terry Bradshaw and Sports Marshall Julius Erving.

Then put on your dancing boots for the Square dance or the Country Music Party.

Bloomin Sunday will cap things off at the Frederick County Fairgrounds with fun for the whole family.

SVAHF has arrived

The 2021 Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival has arrived!

The Frederick County Fairgrounds will host the event from 10 am to 5 pm today and tomorrow.

The weekend will feature plenty of activities for the whole family such as a KidsZone with Free inflatables, live music, and plenty of food, crafts, and drink vendors.

The marquis events include the Apple pie Judging Contest and the car show on Saturday and on Sunday, the Apple pie eating contest and the canine challenge course.

Admission is $10 and free for children under 10, veterans, military, and law enforcement.

The Core of the Community event wraps today 9/4 with BBQ and Brews

The first ever Core of Community event wraps up today Sept. 4 at Frederick County Fairgrounds in Clearbrook.

The BBQ and Brews festival kicks off at 1 and benefits the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival.

Featuring live music, BBQ, Brews and just added big screen televisions for college game watching.

We spoke with event coordinator Brad Veach about it and he tells us all about what’s planned and where you can get tickets.

SABF wraps up the weekend

The 94th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival wraps up this weekend.

Saturday morning features the Sports Breakfast with special guests Joe Theismann and Santana Moss, formerly of the Washington Football Team, amongst other local sports stars.

Afterwards at the Frederick County Fairgrounds will host another fan favorite event, the Country Music Party.

At 9:30 pm, Shenandoah University will host their “Light Up the Night Fireworks Display.”

The Ohrstrom- Bryant Theater parking lot will serve as the staging area.

Jim Barnett Park and the surrounding parking lots are recommended for optimal viewing.

SABF adds a celebrity to the Sports Breakfast

Shenandoah Apple Blossom (SABF) has convinced Hogette Nickette to come out of retirement.

The NFL Hall of Fame Washington Super Fan will join Joe Theismann and Santana Moss at the Sports Breakfast Sat. May 1 at the Frederick County Fairgrounds.

Nickette also known as Nick Nerangis has helped raise millions of dollars for a variety of charities as a member of the Washington Hogettes.

Nick, in Hogette costume, will make a special appearance from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Apple Blossom event.
