Fire & Rescue Wins “Battle of the Badges!”

The annual “Battle of the Badges” Blood Drive took place this past Friday (7-24) at the Frederick County Public Safety Building, and we had an upset, as Fire and Rescue edged Law Enforcement 34-30, taking the trophy that had long been held by Sheriff Lenny Millholand and his team. Donors were asked to vote for either Fire & Rescue or Law Enforcement with their blood donations, but the real winners were the potential recipients of life saving blood. Night Operations Event In Frederick County

On August 16th, Friday, Frederick County Fire & Rescue Recruit Class 36 and 37 participated in the Night Operations event to demonstrate their skills and training.

Starting at 6:00 a.m., all 40 recruits engaged in over 60 mock scenarios, including EMS responses, vehicle accidents, and major fire incidents.

The event, which allowed family and friends to observe, was designed to test and showcase the recruits’ readiness after extensive training and education.

The night marked the culmination of their journey through the Academy, where they demonstrated their preparedness for future challenges in their respective fields.

Residential Structure Fire Occurs in Frederick County

Frederick County Fire & Rescue (FCFR) reports a residential structure fire on Thursday night on Muse Road, Gore.

The large fire was a two-story single-family residence.

The residence was nearly 100% involved in fire, making it unsafe to enter.

Frederick County Fire & Rescue (FCFR) initiated a fire attack and required additional water resources.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Fredrick County Firefighter was injured in an accident

Frederick County firefighter Jason Hensell was severely injured in a head on collision on his way home from work.

The firefighter is facing a long road to recovery with a go fund me page set up to offset the expected bills.

Frederick County Fire and Rescue Department is grateful to all who have helped raise over $7,000 of the $10,000 goal.
