The American Red Cross needs blood donors after blood drive cancellations

battle of the badges blood drive

Inclement weather has cancelled blood drives in the area taxing an already low blood supply for the American Red Cross.

There are blood drive appointments available in your area.

Using your zip code at redcrossblood.org you can set an appointment convenient for you near your home.

Fri. Jan. 21 a blood drive with appointments open is scheduled for the American Legion Post on Eighth Street Front Royal from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..

If that drive fills up another is available for the future for you to set the appointment.

Donors are able to give every 56 days.

The need is greater than ever as the Red Cross is experiencing the lowest supply in a decade with a 10 percent drop in donations.

The supply limit is affecting the supply delivered to area hospitals.

If you can give that would help supply a severely depleted blood bank.
