FCSO respond to a body being found

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCS0) report a body being found on Front Royal Pike.

Authorities were reported to be seen in abundance on Route 522 north in Winchester around 8 a.m. this morning Feb. 28.

It was later confirmed by the FCSO that a body of an 84 year old Front Royal Pike resident was found deceased in his front yard.

There was no known threat or danger to the general public at anytime.

The death does not appear to be suspicious in nature with no sign of foul play.

The person’s next of kin have been notified and their privacy is being respected.

VDOT seeks feedback for improvements

The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking feedback regarding improvements to the corridor around 522 and exit 313 from I-81.

Residents are invited to take a survey that will be open from February 21 – March 7.

They will be asked their opinions on the current situation and rate VDOT’s potential plans for the area.

VDOT is using this study to evaluate safety and operations improvements as well as accessibility and transportation demand management like the need for a park and ride.

This study is part of Project Pipeline, a new initiative from the Commonwealth Transportation Board.
