Front Royal fills Town Council seat

Front Royal has filled their vacant Town Council seat after appointing Dr. Melissa DeDomenico-Payne to the role.

She was born in New York and then moved to Front Royal where she is a graduate of Warren County High School.

She received her Bachelors Degree from Shenandoah University, Masters from Marymount University, and her Doctorate in Public Administration from Capella University.

Her career experiences include work in executive and administrative roles in non-profits and educational organizations.

Front Royal continues Town Council search

The Town of Front Royal announced that the search for someone to serve in a vacant Town Council seat continues. 

The vacancy occurred after former Vice Mayor Cockrell assumed the office of Mayor.

The interim appointment will continue for her original appointment duration which is through December 31, 2024.

To be eligible for appointment, a candidate must be a qualified voter in the Town of Front Royal.

If you are interested, submit a cover letter and resume to the Clerk of Council, Tina L. Presley, by Friday, January 13th at 4:30 pm.

Public Power Week in Front Royal

Front Royal joins over 2000 other communities with locally owned, not for profit electric communities in celebrating Public Power Week.

Town Council acknowledged the Energy Services Department at a recent meeting for their service to the community for 123 years.

The Energy Services Department has been able to support itself and cover all operational costs through their rate structure.

Front Royal Town Council looks for candidates

The Front Royal Town Council is looking to fill a vacancy on the Board of Architectural Review panel.

Candidates must own property in Front Royal or Warren County and be willing to fill a 4 year term of meetings at least once a month and as needed along with training sessions.

Front Royal Town Council select new member

The Front Royal Town Council selected Jacob Meza to fill the unexpired term of Mayor Chris Holloway.

Meza’s experience on the Town Council and Planning Commission set him apart from the other candidates.

The loss of Mayor Tewalt and Vice-Mayor Sealock played a factor in his selection.

Meza has vast knowledge of the EDA lawsuit, infrastructure projects, COVID-19 and the Town’s budget.

Town Council will hold a special election in November 2021 for the seat.

Front Royal Town Council goes virtual

Tonight’s Front Royal Town Council meeting and work session at Warren County Government Center Board Room will begin at 7 p.m..

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions Citizens and members of the press are encouraged to stay home and watch the meeting live on the town’s website at frontroyalva.com or on Comcast channel 16.

The Town Staff will remote in to this session.

There is no public comment at this work sessions and special meetings.
